The issue in this case is whether the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions deployed by businesses, will continue to manage the variety of new devices and operating systems available in the market.

Manageability

It is certain that MDM will become an important part of almost every mobile strategy, whether a business decides that its existing solution remains the best possible one, or opts to migrate to a new system that will make better use of the different features.

Applications development

The mobile-first approach is becoming more and more popular. By now, a great number of businesses have declared their intention to give priority to the mobile version of their business apps within the next two years. The next step would be to carefully plan the distribution and management of these apps, as part of a broader mobile strategy.

An overall assessment

Mobility is becoming more and more popular, as a big percentage of SMBs and large organizations are now describing themselves as partially or fully mobile. The development of mobility is supported by software and this has led to a combination of new technologies. Apart from enabling employees to work in the way that fits them best, this trend is affecting an increasing part of the workforce. So, we’re witnessing the development of what is known as Software-Defined Workplace (SDWP), which combines new technologies that -if used correctly- will enable employees to lift the restrictions of working in their offices. In particular, SDWP allows employees to work on their laptops or mobile devices, but as part of a broader strategy supporting mobility.

Finally, Enterprise Mobility Management focuses on the management of mobile devices, wireless networks and other computing services in a business environment, and it could be argued that it is the driving force behind the expansion of mobility in the working environment.

If we want to focus on enterprise mobility in particular, it would be useful to take a more thorough look on the trends that emerged in 2016, including the following: Safety This remains the first priority in all areas, due to the fragile balance that allows employees the freedom of easy access to corporate resources, … Continue reading Enterpise mobility and modern businesses

[111
231
