SoftOne Cyprus entered into a partnership agreement with Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). The partnership was ratified through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by Mr. Panos Martinis, CEO of SOFTONE Group and Dr. Panagiotis Zafeiris, Rector of CUT, with the signing ceremony taking place at the university’s senate building in Limassol.

The Memorandum of Understanding entails collaboration in the field of information technology, including joint participation in research and development programs of both SoftOne and CUT respectively. It also seeks to facilitate the launch of a number of initiatives across several sectors, including culture, education and business.

In the context of the cooperation, students and graduates of CUT will also have the opportunity to carry out their internship in the individual business units of SoftOne. In addition, the memorandum allows the exchange of useful advisory and scientific services on issues and fields of common interest.

Referring to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the CEO of SOFTONE Group, Mr. Panos Martinis, stated: “SoftOne constantly invests in the development of partnerships with reputable scientific and educational institutions that share our vision for both promoting innovation and developing the skills of the next generation. The MoU sets the stage for building a mutually beneficial relationship with an internationally recognized University that encourages excellence in education and research in cutting-edge technologies. We look forward to a close cooperation, which will focus on our mutual educational goals and will mark the beginning of common activities that will connect the educational community with the business market”.

Dr Panagiotis Zafeiris, Rector of CUT, expressed his satisfaction for the partnership with SoftOne, which, as he said, strengthens the University’s efforts for further connection of the university community to the business industry. He also communicated the willingness of CUT and specifically of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Information of Technology, to transfer scientific excellence and innovation to the business market and to develop multi-level cooperation in areas of common interest, so as to solve real industry and society problems.
